What to do if you are in a

CRITICAL INCIDENT

Do NOT give any information without being ordered by a supervisor.

Tape record all statements given once ordered by a supervisor.

Do NOT explain WHY or HOW you reacted to this incident.

Provide only a "Public Safety Statement" once ordered by a supervisor:

            Identify the crime scene including all weapons and evidence

            Identify anyone injured and their location

            Identify how many rounds fired and direction

            Identify or describe witnesses

            Identify or describe outstanding suspects/vehicles:

                               - Direction of travel

                               - Elapsed time

                               - Weapon information

                               - What crimes are they wanted for

Notify your representative immediately!

Do NOT engage in any other conversation without your representative!
